Cost Accountant

BSC is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with Production regarding Job Order costs, closing Work Orders, and prepares Cost Reports
  • Updates Product Standards and makes corresponding inventory adjustment JE’s
  • Maintains and publishes monthly inventory details including obsolete inventory calculations
  • Posts and analyzes GL batches into detailed JE’s for variance reporting purposes
  • Reviews and posts sales orders for invoicing and generating commercial invoices
  • Responsible for cylinder tracking and maintaining cylinder inventory and ensures adherence to the Company demurrage policy
  • Prepares weekly Variance Analysis spreadsheet
  • Maintains construction in progress projects and related fixed asset records
  • Provides ad hoc Cost Analysis for pricing and sourcing for operations decisions
  • Manages historical cost information, standard changes, and prepares Rate Analysis Report
  • Prepares and maintains, on an annual and quarterly basis, the operating budget using Forecaster
  • Reconciles labor hours for job orders with Labor Reports

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Proficient using MS Office products including Great Plains Dynamics. CMA certification preferred but not required.

Chemical Process Engineer

BSC is currently seeking a highly qualified Chemical Process Engineer or chemist to assist in day-to-day management of its Production Unit.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience in batch chemical manufacturing operations; 5+ years experience in a batch specialty chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment; experience with chemical and engineering aspects of scale up of chemical processes, in particular: filtration, utility systems, operating procedures, equipment selection, etc.; demonstrated ability to assist a group of chemical operators, supervisors and technical professionals in a 24-hour a day, 7 day per week operation; superior record of safety involvement and results; excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and implementation skills; ability to handle multiple tasks, manage multiple projects and prioritize all of the above. A BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry required; MS or Ph.D. is beneficial.
