Longmont, CO – June 24th, 2019 – Boulder Scientific, a specialty chemical company, has expanded the manufacturing and research and development capabilities at its Longmont plant, located at 4161 Specialty Place. The company upgraded the manufacturing facilities at the 33,000-square-foot site and added new research and analytical laboratories.

To manage the new functions, Boulder Scientific has increased its chemistry staff in Longmont. The changes will allow the company to increase its product mix with a new offering for the plastics industry.

“We’re excited about our ability to better utilize the Longmont plant and look forward to working with our customers to tap the potential of this enhanced facility,” said Boulder Scientific CEO Scott Birmingham.

Owned by Boulder Scientific since 2005, the Longmont plant most recently housed administrative and warehouse activities. The site features five manufacturing cells that were installed by the original owner. Boulder Scientific plans to retrofit each cell to satisfy increasing manufacturing demand, adding employees to staff each cell as it becomes operational.  Each cell will likely manufacture a different product, enabling the company to continue diversifying its product line.

Boulder Scientific’s main production facility is located in Mead, Colorado.
