On October 21st, 2025, representatives from our team attended the Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) Summit & Annual Meeting, where our Mead and Longmont facilities were honored with Safety Recognition Awards in the category of Operational and Performance Excellence. This achievement reflects the collective commitment, vigilance, and professionalism of our entire organization.

Mead:

Boulder Scientific Company’s Mead facility is celebrated for its commitment to employee involvement and community transparency. The Mead safety program integrates robust data gathering with active employee engagement to detect emerging risks early and address them proactively. The adoption of human-performance tools has simplified near-miss reporting and increased employee participation. Joint emergency drills with local responders have reinforced both preparedness and community trust. Together, these initiatives have enabled BSC-Mead to sustain top-tier safety performance while strengthening critical external partnerships.

Specialty Place:

Boulder Scientific Company’s Specialty Place facility is recognized for advancing safety and community trust through Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), innovative training, and proactive engagement. BSC-Specialty Place has redefined safety by embracing a Human and Organizational Performance framework that emphasizes system improvements over individual blame. Through cross-functional Learning Teams, the company investigates issues — such as rupture disk failures — to uncover root causes and implement corrective actions before incidents occur. A structured, blended training program that integrates classroom, computer-based, and hands-on instruction ensures employees are competent, confident, and continually building their safety skills. This approach has strengthened both operational reliability and individual accountability across all roles. Beyond the plant, Boulder Scientific cultivates strong community relationships through regular engagement with local officials and responsive actions — such as installing sound barriers to reduce noise — demonstrating its commitment to transparency, sustainability, and responsible partnership.
